DONOR CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY POLICY

POLICY STATEMENT:

Your privacy is a personal and fundamental right. The policy of World Care maintains the highest level of confidentiality with respect to the donor and his/her information.

World Care uses industry standard practices to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal identifiable information, including firewalls and encryption. We treat data as an asset that must be protected against loss and unauthorized access. We employ many different security techniques to protect such date from any unauthorized access (inside and outside the organization).

We do not share donor names, addresses, or fund-related financial information with any individual or organization outside of World Care without express written permission from donors.

PROCEDURE:

Publication of Donor Names:
World Care uses the information you provide about yourself when donating only to record that donation so that we can acknowledge your gift to our community.

From time to time, donor names may be listed in our annual report and/or in similar public relations communications. Exceptions will be made for any donor who specifically requests anonymity.

Email:
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. We do not log on-line behavior of individuals. When you provide your email address as a donor or as a volunteer, we may use your email to notify you of upcoming volunteering opportunities, emergency relief needs or future e-news. We do not sell nor share your email information with outside parties.

Honor/Memorial Gifts:
The names of donors of memorial or honor gifts may be released to the honoree, next of kin, or appropriate member of the immediate family, unless otherwise specified by the donor. Gift amounts are not to be released with express consent of the donor.

Anonymous Gifts:
The CEO or designated management is authorized to accept anonymous gifts to World Care. In the event the CEO/designated management are uncertain about the desirability of accepting an anonymous gift, he/she shall consult with the Board of Directors.
