The Stuff-the-Bus for Oklahoma event was a big success! Together we raised two buses full of donations for tornado victims in Oklahoma. Thank you Tucson for your continued support, thank you KGUN9 and our many other sponsors making this event possible.

KGUN9 is hosting a Stuff-the-Bus event to help World Care collect supplies for families in need throughout Oklahoma as they work to recover from the wreckage following some of the worst tornado damage on record. The event will be held this Friday in the parking lot of Sam Levitz on Broadway and Pantano from 6am-6pm. Stop by with your donations and help us bring supplies to those in need. World Care is collecting emergency relief supplies for victims of the recent tornado in Oklahoma. The tornado left at least 24 dead and a 13 mile path of destruction in its wake. “As a nation, our full focus right now is on the urgent work of rescue, and the hard work of recovery and rebuilding that lies ahead,” President Obama said this morning. Recovery efforts will support both short and long term needs as the disaster recovery process continues. Both funding and supplies are needed to assist the victims of the disaster. Volunteers are also needed to assist with sorting and packaging supplies to send to the affected areas.

Donations can be made at World Care. KOLD, CoolBox, Zanes Law, A-Family Discount Storage, and HVF West are also sponsoring donation collections at A-Family Discount Storage and Zanes Law locations. World Care is responding to the West, Texas fertilizer plant explosion which destroyed hundreds of family homes and apartments. Rural West, Texas has a population of less than 3,000 people with 18.3% of the population living below the poverty line. The recovery efforts will support both short and long term needs as the disaster recovery process continues. World Care is in close contact with the Texas Governor’s office, Texas A&M and Volunteer Emergency Management groups providing support for the recovery efforts. Both funding and supply are needed to assist the victims of the explosion.
